The Town of Zadar
The Town of Zadar grew from the Roman colony of Iadera founded in 59 B.C.. Some of the most popular tourist attractions include: Roman Forum (the remains of the Roman square), the Church of St. Donatus (Cro. Sveti Donat), the Greeting to the Sun (Cro. Pozdrav Suncu), a monument dedicated to the Sun, The Sea Organ (Cro. Morske Orgulje), an architectural sound art object, Zadar Seaside Promenade, Queen Jelena Madijevka Park, The Port of Foša, The Five Wells Square (Cro. Trg Pet Bunara), the Bridge of Zadar (Cro. Zadarski Most), Zadar city walls, Barkajoli (Zadar Boatmen), Kalelarga Street, etc.
There are wine tours, guided tours around cheese factories on the Island of Pag (Cro. paški sir = cheese from Pag), sports and numerous other attractions for the visitors of Zadar to enjoy.

Since 1991, the Town of Zadar has been part of the Republic of Croatia that was created in the Croatian War of Independence in the process of disintegration of the former Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia. At that time, Zadar became the central town of the Zadar County again. Over the next 30 years, a new urban infrastructure has been set up in the town, a large passenger and cargo port in Gaženica which is a docking port for cruise ships has been built, the University of Zadar has been established and tourism industry has grown. Zadar has got direct access to the highway in the direction of Zagreb, and since there is also an airport there, the Town is well-connected by air, road and sea with the entire Europe and the whole world. Today, Zadar is a university town, a dynamic urban centre with a population of 70,000 citizens, with 100,000 residents from other towns, municipalities and islands in Zadar County gravitate towards it as an inspiring place.
Owing to its rich cultural heritage, today the Town of Zadar is one of the most popular tourist destinations, named ‘the entertainment centre of the Adriatic’ by The Times, and ‘Croatia’s new capital of cool’ by the Guardian. In 2017, the UNESCO’ s list of World Heritage Sites included the fortified Town of Zadar among the Venetian Works of Defence between 15th and 17th century: Stato da Terra – western Stato da Mar.
During his stay in Zadar, the famous film director Alfred Hitchcock was amazed by the sunset in Zadar and is reported to have said that the sunset in Zadar is even more beautiful than the one in Key West in Florida.

Rosemary park in Zadar
Rosemary Park is situated in the downtown of the Town of Zadar. In the vicinity of the villa, within 100-300m, you will find beaches, restaurants, bars, caffés, shops, bus stations, public electric scooters for rental, parks, the marina of Borik and Falkensteiner Hotels with amenities. The town centre is located 4km away and you will be able to visit many museums, Roman historical buildings, promenades, restaurants, bars, shops, tour operators, etc.
The international airport Zadar-Zemunik is located 15km away from Rosemary Park, or 30 minutes by car. The main bus station is located 5km away from Rosemary Park.
